The Silk Blouse

When I don't know what to wear in the morning, I always reach for a dress shirt.  It's the always appropriate, can't-go-wrong choice.

I especially love this silk dress blouse from Banana Republic.  It's a perfect off-white color and the fabric feels luxurious and a little fancier than cotton.

The other thing I love about a silk blouse? It's seasonless. Winter, spring, summer or fall, it works.

Blouse- Banana Republic (similar, similar from J.Crew)
Skirt- J.Crew (buy it here)
Shoes- Nine West (buy them here---my favorite nude heels ever!)
Belt- Express (buy it here)

Hope you're having a great week so far!

Do you wear a camisole or something underneath that blouse? It seems like it would be a little see-though!

will you wear your lavender bag again?

I think it matches not for certain color.

I've always wanted a silky blouse, but up until now haven't found the "perfect" one!!! That one looks lovely on you!

I really like how you take ordinary pieces and put up great outfits like this one! =D

I've been looking for this top. Of course I would find it on your blog. What was I thinking! Xo

It doesn't look like you respond to comments, but hopefully you'll save me a ton of annoyance by telling me how you get your belts from "riding up" on all your jcrew pencil skirts. I bought a million skinny belts this summer, but have yet to actually leave the house wearing one because by the time I put my shoes on, the belt has slid off the waist band of the skirt and is hovering around my natural waist. do you have a trick?

BTW, I meant to say this BEFORE I asked my question, but you're adorable and your style is fun and chic! :) Thanks for taking the time to blog about your life!

Christina- if my belt moves i just fix it. Maybe try doing it tighter? Mine usually stay pretty okay but maybe it's because i have wider hips to keep it in place?
