Dining Room Updates- Almost Done!

I am so incredibly thrilled with our dining room!  We are still waiting on the curtains and the chandelier to be installed, but I wanted to show a quick update about how it's looking in our space.

As you know, we have an extremely open floor plan, so it was important for us to get a table that made a statement so that it stood out in its "own space" but not so much that it didn't feel cohesive with the rest of the space.

We ended up keeping the Restoration Hardware table that had a tiny flaw on it because the replacement table had some broken parts under it and the color of the wood was not as nice as the one we have. Restoration Hardware had incredible customer service and we were able to get a discount on the table due to the stain.

I can't wait to put the finishing touches on our dining room. It feels so "grown up" to have a real dining room table and chairs (though we still at at our kitchen island).

Source List:
Dining Chairs- Home Source Houston- Lawford Chair
Miranda Trifle Bowl- Crate & Barrel
Faux Hydrangea Stem- similar at Pottery Barn

Do you have and use your dining room furniture? I think we will eat at this table for more special occasions and when we have guests over. I like that this table has sort of a rustic glam look (the glam will come from the Thai silk curtains and crystal chandelier) so it can sort of be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion. I can't wait to dress it up for the holidays!

Love the table. Can it seat 6? Can't wait to see how it looks with lighting and curtains.

We entertain a lot, so I recently got my hubby on board with buying a mid-century dining table from Reeves Antiques to replace our old Pier 1 table. It gets lots of use!

I live in Houston and have always wondered if your house is by Tricon? We bought a Tricon house about 5 years ago and your interior as well as walkway look like ours and others I have seen.

Best of luck with everything!

@emily---yes the table can seat 6 but we chose to keep it at 4 for now since we hardly use it---we also have a bench that can be brought in to seat more people, if needed.

I do have a dining room and like you love the idea of having it! We mostly use it when there's company. It seats 6 and has been great for company.

Also one of my favortie rooms - the table is dark with 4 cream leather chairs and 2 bigger leopard print chairs at the ends.

Enjoy yours - it's beautiful!

Beautiful table and chairs!
However, I'm just wondering if you can 2 more chairs. I feel like the longer side can seat 2 on each side instead of 1? Just a thought.

Veronika said...

@steph---we don't plan to add any chairs yet. It can fit two more, but we don't need them right now and we have a bench that we can use for extra seating. I like how the chairs are big enough that I don't feel I need more right now.

Beautiful, and a suggestion, have you tried placing two chairs on the long sides and no chairs on the end. I personally think it would really nice, well also because that is how we have our chairs set up.

Your house is gorgeous, my in laws live in sugar land and they entice me with beautiful house pics all the time. :)

Beautiful! I also think 2 more chairs would make a big difference.

i like the table...i think it could use two more chairs tho, both for style and functionality

Gorgeous table and chairs combo! Did you consider turning the table 90 degrees? From the pictures you post it looks like most large items in that great room are organized in the same orientation. It might be nice to break things up by putting the table perpendicular to the long axis of the room.

It looks phenomenal V! Can't wait to see the chandelier!! I love the table and chairs-both are perfect

Veronika said...

Lauren - we can't do that, there would be no space to walk past it because it's Barlow

When you first linked the table, I wasn't really into the style. Seeing it in your space with the tufted chairs changed my mind. It looks great, and you really do have amazing taste!
