Outfit: Celebrating Liz Week at JCPenney!

Happy Monday everyone!  Today is an especially exciting Monday for me because I get to share with you some outfits I created as part of Liz Week at JCPenney. This Fall marks the one year anniversary of the Liz Claiborne and JCPenney partnership so JCPenney is celebrating the event with a special "Liz Week" that runs from September 18th through October 1st.

JCPenney  provided me with a gift card so I could shop the Liz Claiborne line and create a look of my very own to celebrate Liz Week.  I found such an incredibly versatile tunic/shirt, that I actually created three looks featuring the Liz Claiborne 3/4 Belted Tunic Top and I also purchased the Liz Claiborne Side Zip Skirt, which is featured in the first look I created.

My first look was a look I created for the office---I paired the Liz pencil skirt and tunic top together and added my own shoes, handbag, belt and necklace.

By the way, my husband shot these photos and I must say, I was pretty impressed since he's never really taken photos before.  You should have seen us on our back patio in the Texas heat trying to hang that step and repeat with painter's tape! It was uber- glamorous, LOL! I should have filmed it! The backdrop fell like 3 times.

Belt- J.Crew
Necklace- Forever 21
Shoes- Target
Bag- Michael Kors

My next outfit showcased how the tunic top could be worn in a more casual way---maybe for happy hour after work or for a lunch date. This time, I wore the tunic untucked and paired with my own skinny jeans, belt and peep-toe heels with a little bow to add a feminine touch.

Top- Liz Claiborne 3/4 Belted Tunic Top
Jeans- GAP "Always Skinny"
Shoes- Me Too
Belt- Express
Bag- Tory Burch

For my final outfit, I decided to infuse some color to show how the Liz top could really complement a brighter look.  I paired it with a hot pink skirt and handbag and a studded belt.

Top- Liz Claiborne 3/4 Belted Tunic Top
Skirt- Zara
Belt- J.Crew
Shoes- Target
Necklace- NYLightMetals on Etsy.com
Bag- Kate Spade

Which outfit do you like best? Let me know in the comments below!

I also wanted to let you know abut the "7 Days of Style" contest being hosted as part of Liz Week. Since JCPenny is working with seven different bloggers from seven different cities across the US to create a different look for each day of the week, they are hosting a “7 Days of Style” contest offering you a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to NYC for a tour of REDBOOK magazine, meet and greet with the fashion director, a $1,000 Liz Claiborne shopping spree and a set of Liz Claiborne luggage (that sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me).  If you're interested, you can enter here:

Thank you for reading and hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

xoxo,

Veronika.

  8. Love this post. So nice to see the versatility. I would love you to do a post like this with some other pieces in the near future.

Honestly, I don't know if I have a favorite. They all look great.

Welcome back to the blogging world. You are the only 'fashion blogger' I read.

    Be well,

  9. thanks carolyn and everyone else who left a comment telling me which outfit you like best!

I agree this would be a fun feature to do again---I can really only do it on weekends when H is avaialble to shoot the photos and I have time to style the outfits, but maybe I'll try to do this more often!

  12. I like the tunic with the black skirt & with the skinny jeans. Really cute! I know a lot of people don't shop at JCP just because it's JCP but I always find really cute stuff at really reasonable prices. Not to mention they always have coupons!!

  15. I love that top it is so versatile. I would have never guessed its as a tunic when tucked into the skirt. I think my favourite is the more casual #2 outfit or outfit #1.

  22. Have you checked out the Call It Spring line at JC Penney? They have great, fashionable shoes! They're part of the Aldo group, so similar styles at a lower price point! :)

  24. You can see the outline of the tucked in shirt under the black skirt. It is very noticeable in pictures, maybe not so much in person..?

Also- why do you post so many pictures of the same outfit? It seems extremely vain, to be honest. I understand taking a couple different shots to show different angles of an outfit, but that's not even what you do. You will toss your hair differently, or switch up your pose, or how your holding your purse, ect. It's so repetitive and it makes you come off as very full of yourself.

I do follow many other beauty bloggers, and there is a distinct difference in the amount/quality of their pictures. They post 1-2 pictures of each outfit and then carry on. Just a thought.

  25. Hadley--everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am glad there are so many different types of fashion blogs out there. The internet would be boring if they were all the same. I posted even more photos than usual for this post because it was fun to have my husband shoot me for the first time ever and I thought he took some fun shots.

Most bloggers I read post at least 3-5 shots of an outfit. To each their own. Thanks for your feedback.

  28. Super cute! I have to tell you, that in the first picture you posted you look so much like Olivia Palermo. Does anyone ever tell you that?

  29. leslie---I have never heard that but I will take it as a compliment!

  30. Cute outfits, but I have to say, the number of pictures is pretty excessive. You really only need to have 2-3 max shots of each outfit. I don't understand the point of basically having the same photo up 8 times to showcase 1 outfit. Just my opinion.

  31. @anon---as I mentioned in a previous comment, I realize this post has a TON of pictures. My husband shot me for the first time and I just included some fun and random shots from the shoot we did together because I just thought it would be fun for this particular post. It's not something that I would do regularly moving forward. Some people don't like a ton of photos...I happen to love seeing multiple photos on the blogs I read...most bloggers I know post at least 3 shots, if not 5 or so of one outfit. I love it, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
