April Favorites and INs & OUTs

Today I thought I'd share my April favorites- products I've been using regularly and loving! These posts are always hard for me because I tend to be a product devotee and don't branch out too often, but lately I have been trying a few new products so I thought I could post these as my April faves.

Benefit Cosmetics Eye Bright Pencil

OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender

essie 2010 The Resort Collection, Splash of Grenadine

4. Aveda Smooth Infusion Styling Cream

5.  MAC Eyeshadow in "Blanc Type"- perfect for all over the eye to brighten it up without being chalky or too white

6.  Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream- I've only been using this for the past week but LOVE IT! So moisturizing and feels great to put on every night- not greasy at all either and very rich!
Kiehl's Eye Care - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado 14ml/0.5oz

7.  MAC "Bare Study" Paint Pot- neutral, soft, pretty, shimmery- the perfect product to add a little oomph without needing to pack on eyeshadow

9.  Seche Vite Topcoat- do you want perfect, shiny, fast-drying nails? This is your best friend!
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat .5 fl oz (15 ml)

10. Pureology Shampoo- Nanoworks and Essential Repair- I don't think I can ever go back to sulfate shampoos after this!  These shampoos make hair feel soft, smooth and silky without weighing it down!
Pureology Antifade Complex Essential Repair Shampoo 10.1 oz

11.  L'Oreal Ever Strong  Deep Conditioning Mask- love this deep conditioner. Makes hair feel super moisturized and soft

and, coming up for May, this is what I foresee for myself:

  • Open-Toe Shoes
  • Skirts and dresses
  • Pretty floral prints
  • Purple everywhere- clothes, home decor, nails!
  • Long necklaces, Key charms on necklaces
  • Resses Peanut Butter Cups
  • Self-tanner- bring on the summer glow!
  • Clear gloss- it's all I need!
  • Taking vitamins- trying to do this more often
  •  Tights under everything (yay for warmer weather)
  • Picking at my cuticles- has GOT to stop!
  • Not working out- need to get back on track
  • Wearing black all of the time (need to wear more color!)...says the girl who just wore all black 2 days in a row)
  • Sugar addiction (ugh...don't even get me started...see peanut butter cups, above)
  • Hurty feet- I just got new insoles and gel pads for all of my heels!

What are your April favorites? Link me to your blog if you've done them or post them below!

  1. I just got Seche Vite and Essie Splash of Grenadine and love them! Great list. I want the Eye Bright.

P.S. package will be on its way to you this weekend! Sorry for the delay -- busy work week. aack.

  2. Michelle- my week was crazy too, I totally understand :) I am so glad you love the seche vite...best topcoat ever!

  3. I love Bare Steady! Also, I have been meaning to try the eye cream! It has been raved about so many times!

Just did my Things I Am Adoring for the month of April!

  4. My April favs were my wedding dress and all the accessories to go with it! Also nude heels and pretty much debuting my post baby body (didn't take too many pictures for the last couple of months) I also have a new love for MAC lipsticks and lip glosses.

I have similar "outs" to you- specifically the "not working out" and the "sugar cravings" I had an excuse last year when I was pregnant but this year it's time to kick it into high gear, be healthy and get in shape!

  5. Cannot believe you posted this today! Haha, seriously my April favorites post is scheduled to post tonight.

I just bought "Lucky Lucky Lavender" earlier this week and can't wait to use it. I have heard good things about Kiehls eye cream elsewhere too... I may try it!

  6. oooh i hear you on the self-tanner Veronika! in fact, i renewed my unlimited mystic tan membership at the local tanning place this week and plan to go on Saturday.
i am curious to know more about the eye cream. does it work for the under eye area specifically? i have those dreadful dark purple circles under my eyes and would love to even out the color. not sure if this cream does that too?

  7. Kinsey- how much do you pay for that membership? I would totally consider getting one of those but I've never done mystic (I've only gotten an actual technician to do it.) Let me know what you think and how much you pay for the unlimited if you feel comfortable sharing!

Re: the eye cream- I use it at night. It is more like a deep moisturizing treatment...I don't think it would help with dark circles. I think you need an eye cream with caffeine and other ingredients for that. This is the perfect night eye cream though because it is so rich and will help prevent wrinkles and reverse damage. It also doesn't smell weird (I don't notice a smell at all, actually) and it doesn't migrate all over your eye area, it stays where you put it, which is great.

  8. I love the Lucky Lucky Lavender. I bought on your suggestion and I'm so glad I did.

I'm also a huge fan of the Aveda Smooth Infusion.

  9. omg I need to do this! I agree so much with yours, no tights, working out, black, etc. And I need to be inspired by your beauty picks!!

  10. I've bookmarked the Aveda Smooth Infusion line- Been wanting to try their shampoo, conditioner and serum. Glad to hear you liked that stuff :-)

Also, you make me wanna buy the Avocado Eye Cream! Sounds awesome!! Thanks!

  11. fun! I might take the idea after reading yours and Kelsey's :)

I bought the la roche posay scrub you mentioned and I really like it! It makes my skin super smooth & soft.

  12. I also love Benefit Eye Bright, but I found an even better pencil at half the cost that I love more: Sephora Collection Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pink. It's almost identical in color, and goes on smoother in my opinion.

  13. I've been dying to try that Benefit Eye Bright Pencil--I think I'm finally going to cave and get it.

  14. I love the Benefit Eye Bright Pencil!! My April fave's are stila lip glosses, Urban Decay Eye Primer and 24/7 Liner, johnson & johnson Purpose facial cleanser, and Jillian Michaels' 30 Days Shred DVD and book "Making the Cut"!!

  15. I did my april favorites! One was thanks to you!
